How to Prepare for Your Permanent Makeup Appointment
Proper preparation helps ensure the best possible results and a smooth healing process. Please read the following recommendations before your appointment.
One Week Before Your Appointment

Avoid Botox or dermal fillers in the treatment area for at least 2 weeks before your procedure.

Avoid chemical peels, laser treatments, microneedling, or other aggressive skin treatments in the treatment area.

Minimize excessive sun exposure and avoid sunburn.
24–48 Hours Before

Do not consume alcohol.

Avoid excessive caffeine on the day of your appointment.

Avoid taking blood-thinning medications or supplements unless prescribed by your physician. These may include aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, and certain herbal supplements.

Stay well hydrated and get a good night’s sleep.
On the Day of Your Appointment

Arrive with clean skin free of makeup, lotions, or oils in the treatment area.

Eat a light meal before your appointment to help maintain stable blood sugar levels.

Wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to relax during your procedure.
Special Recommendations
Eyebrows

Avoid waxing, threading, or tinting your eyebrows for at least 5–7 days before your appointment.

If you normally shape your brows, allow them to grow naturally so the best design can be created.
Lips

If you are prone to cold sores (herpes simplex), consult your physician about taking an antiviral medication before your lip procedure.

Keep your lips well moisturized for several days before your appointment.
Eyeliner

Remove contact lenses before your appointment.

Avoid eyelash extensions during the procedure. If possible, remove them beforehand or schedule your appointment after they have been removed.
When to Reschedule
